Hampton is a beautiful seaside community with a rich history spanning 350 years. Centrally located half-way between Portland, Maine and Boston, Massachusetts it is an easy commute to several major cities for employment or cultural activities.

Nestled along the Atlantic’s shore the town has a population of 15,000 the community is viewed by many as an above-average-income residential town. Hampton has a total area approximately 14.2 square miles. For shopping convenience, residents can shop from several large grocery stores and retail chains as well as travel 15 minutes to the stores inside the Newington mall and countless establishments around Portsmouth.

Hampton residents are an equal blend of affluent young families and retirees. They value education and offer a highly regarded school system. The town is in close proximity to many cultural attractions in the nearby communities of Exeter and Portsmouth.

LANE MEMORIAL LIBRARY: Offers children and adult film nights, story time, teen activities and book groups, AARP tax help programs, museum passes and the latest released book titles to its patrons. The facility also has many of the library services accessible via computer. Located at 2 Academy Avenue (the corner of Academy Ave. and Winnacunnet Road in the center of Hampton).

HAMPTON BEACH: Hampton Beach is located on the southern end of New Hampshire's 13-mile coastline. It is approximately 1 1/2 miles long and is completely soft fine grain sand. June is the annual Hobie Cat regatta and the week long sand sculpture Competition. July brings the 4th of July holiday and fireworks display, known as the best fireworks shoot in the region. August has the annual Miss Hampton Beach contest a tradition for many decades and children's week with prizes and events for children of all ages. Finally in September is The Annual Seafood Festival the biggest event of the summer known as one of the top 100 events in North America. Also from Late June to Early September there is a weekly fireworks display every Wednesday night, popular with adults and children alike.

Police Department: Hampton Police Department is staffed with 34 Full-Time and 70 Part-Time Sworn Officers. 9 Civilian employees support them.

The department uses a variety of patrol methods and techniques to handle the dramatic increase in the community’s daily population.

Fire Department: Hampton Fire-Rescue protects over 15,000 year round residents and containing over 2.3 billion dollars of property. During the summer season approximately 100,000 daily visitors come to Hampton to enjoy miles of Atlantic coastline and its beaches.

Currently there are (2) officers, (7) firefighters and (1) fire alarm operator on each of the four shifts. Each shift works a rotating schedule of day and night shifts covering 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The school system: Schools in the town of Hampton have Student/Teacher ratio of 12.9 to one teacher. Total Students Pre Kindergarten - 12 Grade: total 1,452. Grades K-2 attend Hampton Centre School, grades 3, 4 and 5th attend Adeline C Marston School, Grades 6th, 7 and 8th attend Hampton Academy Junior High and students grades 9-12 attend the SAU 21’s Winnacunnet High school. Other communities in the SAU include Hampton Falls, North Hampton and Seabrook.

Colleges: Within easy commuting distance are Saint Anselm College, the University of New Hampshire, Manchester Community Technical College, Southern New Hampshire University and numerous Mass. colleges and universities.
