Presenting big check to Boys and Girls Club of Souhegan ValleyThe team from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty’s Amherst, NH, office went on a road trip to visit the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley and present a $500 donation.

The Amherst office took second place in the company’s VeraniCARES 3.2.1 contest, which encouraged agents to participate in Verani’s company-matched donation program, VeraniCARES. Their prize was $2,000 to donate to the organization of their choice. The team decided to split the donation among SHARE, Greater Nashua Habitat for Humanity, and the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.

The Boys & Girls Club offers programs and services to promote the development of boys and girls, with the mission of enabling all young people to reach their full potential.

“It has been an amazing process and really a validation of the support we’ve gotten from the community, from companies like yours [Verani] and foundations as well, but we’re not done yet,” said Susan Taylor, Executive Director of the club.

She said the organization has a goal of raising membership from 800 kids to 1200 kids a year. Currently they serve 190 kids each day, but they want to serve 250. To keep kids at the center for longer and to keep them engaged, they recently added a new gymnasium onto their facility.
