VeraniCARES Raises More Than $22,000 for Operation Delta Dog Through Annual Cornhole Tournament

Verani Realty

What started as a community fundraiser has grown into one of VeraniCARES' most impactful annual events. This year's Cornhole Tournament brought together agents, local businesses, sponsors, and community members at Tuscan Village in Salem, raising more than $22,000 for Operation Delta Dog and helping provide life-changing service dogs to veterans throughout our region.

At Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty, giving back to the communities we serve is at the heart of who we are. Through the efforts of VeraniCARES, our charitable foundation, that commitment was on full display during the 3rd Annual VeraniCARES Cornhole Tournament, which raised an incredible $22,332 for Operation Delta Dog.

Held on May 16 at Tuscan Village in Salem, New Hampshire, the event welcomed dozens of teams and supporters for a day filled with friendly competition, raffles, community spirit, and charitable giving. Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, sponsors, Verani Realty agents, and community members, this year's tournament became the most successful in the event's history.

The proceeds will directly support Operation Delta Dog, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing shelter dogs and training them to become service companions for veterans living with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and other service-related challenges.

A driving force behind the tournament's success was Nicole Buckley, REALTOR® in Verani Realty's Salem office and VeraniCARES Ambassador. Working alongside volunteers, local businesses, and community supporters, Buckley helped coordinate fundraising efforts and bring the event to life.

"We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, and sponsored this event," said Buckley. "Each year, this tournament continues to grow, and it's inspiring to see so many people come together for a cause that makes such a meaningful difference. Knowing these funds will help veterans receive highly trained service dogs is truly rewarding."

Operation Delta Dog's mission is unique because it changes two lives at once. The organization rescues dogs from shelters and provides extensive training so they can serve veterans in need. Every service dog placement requires months of specialized instruction, veterinary care, equipment, and ongoing support, all provided at no cost to the veteran.

The $22,332 donation from VeraniCARES will help fund these critical programs and support future service dog partnerships that improve the lives of local veterans while giving rescue dogs a second chance.

Over the past three years, the VeraniCARES Cornhole Tournament has evolved into one of the foundation's signature fundraising events. What began as a local gathering has grown into a powerful example of what can happen when businesses, volunteers, and community members come together with a shared purpose.

"This event represents everything VeraniCARES stands for," said Buckley. "Supporting our communities, helping those in need, and making a positive impact through collective action."

VeraniCARES extends its heartfelt thanks to every sponsor, donor, volunteer, participant, and supporter who helped make this year's event a record-breaking success. Together, we are building stronger communities and creating meaningful change throughout New England.
